In the second Jurassic Park film Richard Attenborough plays a smaller role. John Hammond, the man who founded the park, is now old and spends most of his time in bed. His nephew has now taken over the running of his company, Ingen. We only see Richard Attenborough at the beginning of the film, in his bedroom, and in the final scene in a television interview. Nevertheless, in these two short scenes he puts on a magnificent performance.

I would give this a 3 and half for the most part. The final act though feels tacked on, and where the heck did Vince Vaughn go.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why people (including you) rate this film so low. I find it brilliant. The last act is necessary to give the film its King Kong structure. As for Vince Vaughn, wasn't Nick Van Owen irrelevant at that point in the film? Or are you talking about something else?
DeleteI think I am being middle of the road. The film got some very poor reviews when it first came out, and perhaps was a victim of hype and the original being so good. I just didn't care for the characters as much this time, and missed Sam Neill and Laura Dern. Perhaps if I saw Juliette Moore first in some of her more accomplished roles I would have been more invested in her character. It's a decent summer film, just think the plot didn't quite work.
