Voodoo Dollz (4 Stars)
This is the 18th film in the Medina Collection, made in 2007. Once more it stars Christine Nguyen in the main role, this time as a schoolgirl at Collinsport School for Girls.
Christine is expelled after being caught performing a lesbian act in the locker room. Rather than being sent home to her parents she's transferred to another school, Dunwich Girls School. This isn't the same school as Dunwich Academy, which we saw in "Super Ninja Doll". It's a completely different school, which just happens to have the same name and the same school uniform. Think of this as another example of the Medina Complex, which I explained in my post on "Girl with the Sex-Ray Eyes".
Talk about a creepy looking school. You even have to cross a moat to get to the front door.
Christine soon makes friends with the other schoolgirls, Nicole Sheridan and Beverly Lynne. This is one of the weaker points of the film. Christine looks young enough to be a schoolgirl, but you need to stretch your imagination a long way to accept Nicole (32) and Beverly (34) as schoolgirls. Don't get me wrong, they're both very beautiful women, but they really don't look like teenagers.
The only man at the school is the gardener, played by Alexandre Boisvert. The girls in the school share him on a weekly rota. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.
When a fire breaks out at he school we find Alexandre in his usual position: hiding behind the girls. They should have hired Evan Stone as the gardener. He's a tougher man, and he has better hair.
The school isn't as peaceful as it seems. It's really a cover for a voodoo cult. The teachers sacrifice virgins to the God Dakuma. There's a shortage of virgins in the school because Alexandre has been too busy, so Christine is tied to a cross soon after her arrival. Is there anyone who can save her? If you don't watch the film you will never know.
The film has a special treat for all fans of 1980's low budget horror films. It features Michelle Bauer as the headmistress of Collinsport. She only appears briefly, but the film is worth watching for her alone. She's a Goddess among women.
