Today's a new start for me. From now on I intend to watch a film with my
grandson Oliver once a week. If he doesn't like the film I pick, he can choose
a film himself from my large collection. Anything he wants, but it has to be
in English.
There's a reason for this. He's 10 years old, and I realised while doing
homework with him that his Enlish is terrible. He's just started his third
year of English, and it ought to be better. Much better. So I want to make
learning English entertaining for him. I consider watching films part of his
homework, but I don't tell him that directly. It mustn't feel like a chore for
him.
It was difficult to make s start. I wanted to watch "Iron Man" with Oliver
yesterday, but he kept delaying it until it was too late. He was scared that
he might not understand anything. But today we watched it, and he understood
what was happening, even if the dialogue was too fast to follow at times. He
only had to ask me something once.
Unless Oliver says otherwise, I intend to start by going through all the MCU
films with him in order. Almost in order. I intend to switch the next two
films, because he's enthusiastic about seeing
"Iron Man 2". That's fine with me.
