As far as I can recall, this is the first film I've watched twice in the
cinema this year. It's worth it. Unfortunately, it looks as if it won't make a
profit. The critics agree that it's a good film, and those who've watched it
praise it, but somehow it can't tempt people into the cinema. Isn't the poster
appealing? Isn't the trailer exciting? Or are people just sick of John Wick
after four films and a mini-series? They don't know what they're missing. Or
maybe they just want to wait till it arrives on streaming.
John Wick himself has a short appearance in the film. Two appearances,
actually. The first is a brief cameo. The second is about ten minutes towards
the end of the film. It's not necessary. I think these scenes were only added
to tempt John Wick fans into the cinema, which obviously hasn't worked. With a
small amount of rewriting he could have been removed without harming the film
in any way.
