Die 1000 Glotzböbbel vom Dr. Mabuse (5 Stars)

I doubt my English speaking fans will be able to comprehend what this film is about, however much I try to describe it. I'll do my best.

In 1960 the director Fritz Lang made his last film, "The Thousand Eyes of Dr. Mabuse". A police inspector investigates a series of murders in a hotel in Berlin. The murderer is supposedly the master criminal Dr. Mabuse, but this can't be possible because he was buried 30 years previously. Or was he?

Now, 58 years later, a new version of the film has been released. The dialog has been dubbed with Swabian dialect, but it's not just a translation from high German into Swabian, the text has been completely rewritten to give the story a different plot. The original film scenes are used, but in a different order to fit the new plot.

The new story has to do with the invention of the Internet in Stuttgart in 1960. Dr. Mabuse has returned to take control of the Internet for his evil purposes.

The film is hilarious, despite being barely comprehensible to non-Swabians. The cinema audience was laughing non-stop. This is an instant classic.
