Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (4 Stars)

You know how people say "They don't make them like that any more"? I think that statement was invented to refer to this film, "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama". They don't even make film titles like that any more. People still make trashy low budget horror films today, but they're not the same. The new films are too serious. The old films had enough comedy to keep us laughing, distracting us from the cheap special effects.

In 1956 David McCabe used to go bowling every day. He loved bowling, but he was awful at it. The ball ended up in the gutter every time. He solved the problem by conjuring up an imp from the dark dimension, who made him an expert bowler. The imp went on a killing spree, but the bowling alley's janitor trapped it in a trophy, where it was safely confined for 30 years.

In 1988 three nerdy teenagers are feeling bored, so they decide to sneak to a local sorority house to spy on the initiation ceremony. It's only a small house. There are three sisters, and there are two new students applying to join. The new pledges are played by Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens. The initiation ceremony consists of two parts. In the first part the new pledges have to strip down to their underwear to be spanked. In the second part they have to break into a bowling alley and steal a trophy. I think you can guess where this is going.

The nerds are caught watching the ceremony, so they're sent to assist the pledges with the break in. When they take the trophy they accidentally release the imp. At first he seems friendly. He offers his liberators a wish each for freeing him. He fulfils the wishes at first, but then turns them bad. One of the boys asks for gold, but after five minutes the gold turns to wood. Brinke Stevens asks to become prom queen, and she's given a beautiful dress which turns to rags five minutes later. Another one of the boys asks to have sex with Michelle Bauer -- that would have been my wish -- which was a good choice, because the sex lasted less than five minutes, before anything could go wrong. After the time was up Michelle turned into a nymphomaniac, wanting sex with anyone.

Brinke Stevens and Michelle Bauer are both incredibly beautiful. It would be difficult for me to choose between them.

The imp goes on to turn the three sorority sisters into demons. The nerds and the pledges have to fight for their lives. Who will live and who will die?

The film is a fun-filled horror romp from beginning to end. You don't know whether to laugh or scream. I was sipping a glass of wine while I watched it, and I think that's the best way to watch it. The film experience is more intense with alcohol. The film was really made on a $90,000 budget? Amazing! They really don't make them like that any more.
