Track Listing:

1. The Final DAT Part 1 07:55

3. The Final DAT Part 3 04:41
4. The Final DAT Part 4 09:41

6. The Final DAT Part 6 10:41

Notes: Bill Laswell also appears on track 4, but it's not stated what instruments he plays.

Rating: 4½ Stars

Tracks 2 and 3 are a single piece of music. All the other tracks are distinct pieces of music, not mixed together.

The album was originally released on Pete Namlook's private label as a limited edition of 2000 copies. In 2016 it was re-released as part of a box set, which is now also out of print.

It's not stated what instruments Bill Laswell plays in Part 4, but I suspect he's the guitarist.

This is an album of mixed quality. The whispered vocals on tracks 1 and 4 are annoying, but the rest is enjoyable. Track 5 is outstanding, as good as anything Klaus Schulze has ever recorded.

According to the description on Pete Namlook's web site:

"After Pete moved to his new studio, the choice of which project would be the first to start a new era in FAX production was easy. Klaus Schulze was asked and didn't hesitate to come to the small town on the River Mosel (144 km away from Pete's home town of Frankfurt). The recording sessions took place, and the features (as well as the difficulties) of a new studio created a life on their own. What resulted is a recording that shows aspects of vintage space music combined with today's innovations to create a new form of Electronic Fusion Music".
