This is an action thriller made in 2021. The nobody in the title is
Hutch Mansell, a middle-aged man living a dull life with a dull repetitive
job. One night thieves break into his home. Despite having the advantage over
them, he lets them leave with his watch and a small amount of cash. His wife
and son think he's a coward, but he actually had pity on the thieves because
they seemed desperate.
As the film progresses, there's another incident which shows what he's really
made of. While taking a bus home he sees a woman being harassed by a group of
men. He beats them up, killing one of them. The dead man is the reckless young
brother of a Russian crime lord. Hutch has a background as an assassin, and he
engages in a war with the Russian mob.
"Nobody" isn't a bad film, but it has so much in common with
"John Wick"
that I have to accuse it of plagiarism. There's nothing wrong with films
copying ideas from older films, but "John Wick" is too recent and the copying
is too intense. I've read that a sequel is planned. It's unnecessary.
