Today the preliminary hearing for the trial was held. The trial date has been set for August 19th, and the trial is estimated to last five weeks. The Americans could learn from this. The Jodi Arias murder trial began on January 2nd and seems to be chugging along indefinitely.
The film about Jodi Arias is still scheduled to be released on June 22nd, even though the trial has currently been adjourned until July 18th. Somehow I couldn't imagine a film being made about a murder in England before the trial is even complete. On the other hand, the American habit of broadcasting trials on the Internet would be a welcome addition to the English legal system. At today's hearing all the visitor chairs were occupied and people had to be turned away.
