Video of the Day: Giant Crayon Change Mom Shirt Different Colors

YouTube Channel: Goo Goo Colors

This is another channel in the parents-filming-their-children category, but it has a different emphasis to the Diana Kids Show channel that I featured yesterday. Diana Kids Show is all about entertainment, whereas Goo Goo Colors makes an attempt to educate children about colours (obviously!), numbers and eating healthy food. The main characters in the Goo Goo Colors videos are Goo Goo Mom and her son Goo Goo Gaga. A frequent supporting character is her younger son, Goo Goo Baby. The other two family members, ZZ Dad (pronounced Zee Zee Dad) and ZZ Kid (the oldest son) are seen less often. I assume that ZZ Dad is holding the camera.

From left to right: Goo Goo Gaga, Goo Goo Baby and ZZ Kid.

The family started a YouTube channel called ZZ Kids TV three years ago. That channel features the whole family. The channel Goo Goo Colors was started nine months ago. The family is very prolific, posting videos almost every day. For instance, over the last 30 days they posted 12 videos in Goo Goo Colors and 8 videos in ZZ Kids TV. Goo Goo Kids earns about $200,000 per month, while ZZ Kids TV earns $60,000 per month. Since the family does everything themselves they don't have to share the income with anyone else.

Moving on to the review of this particular video with the ungrammatical name: it's a video in two parts. The first part shows Goo Goo Gaga using a magic giant crayon to change the colours of his mother's t-shirt and other items in the house. In the second part Goo Goo Mom takes Goo Goo Gaga and Goo Goo Baby shopping. We often see the family on shopping trips. Goo Goo Baby's voice is dubbed by ZZ Dad.

Goo Goo Gaga is given a shopping list of Marvel hero toys that he has to buy, each a different colour. Wait! Is Thanos a hero? Maybe he is. His goals are noble. He wants to reduce overpopulation and increase wealth by removing half of the world's population. That's a good thing, isn't it?

"Now be a good boy, Goo Goo Gaga. Only buy the colours on your list".

"Yes, Goo Goo Mom".

"Goo Goo Gaga! What's that in your shopping cart?"

"But Mom, I want Captain America as well".

"Put it back, Goo Goo Gaga. Only buy what's on the list".

This video is typical for the Goo Goo Colors channel. It's simple, with only a few enhancements for special effects. I assume that the channel is the full time job for both parents, so they can easily prepare a new video every one to two days. The dialogue is very repetitive, but that's suitable for an educational video. My grandson Oliver enjoys the videos, but I think I like them even more.

For me the strength of the videos isn't in the children, it's in the parents. They both have such bubbly personalities that it's impossible not to like them. They're the sort of people that if I met them by chance we'd be best friends within an hour.

ZZ Dad can dance!

Goo Goo Mom can dance!

Any couple who can dance like that get two thumbs up from me. What a beautiful family!
