This is the sixth film in the Stuttgart Fantasy Film Festival.
What a beautiful film! I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's a breath of fresh
air after the poor films today. It's not meant to be a serious or meaningful
film. It's just 90 minutes of unashamed violence, although the violence is so
unrealistically that it made everyone laugh.
It's pitched as a remake of the 1984 Toxic Avenger film, but there are brief references to the
characters in the first film. What I especially like is that the film
was obviously made with a large budget, but a deliberate effort has been made to
make it look cheap. It could have been made in the 1980's. Pete Dinklage is
the perfect actor to play the Toxic Avenger, and a sequel is promised after
the credits. I can hardly wait!
