Video of the Day: Baby Shark

YouTube: Bounce Patrol Kids

As my second Video of the Day post I've picked "Baby Shark", a song that everyone loves to hate. I hope that the song won't put my readers off clicking on the title picture of this post to watch the video. It's a catchy song, and this is a very good version. Probably what people hate about it so much is that it's so catchy that it's difficult not to sing along.

The performers are a group that call themselves Bounce Patrol, from Melbourne in Australia. All five of them appear in this video. There are some videos where only three or four of them take part. In the picture above you can see, from left to right, Rachel, Jacinta, Alyssa, Jackson and Will. There's a sixth member called Shannon on the other side of the camera. The six do everything between them.

In my opinion, Bounce Patrol is the most professional of all the children's video channels. The production quality is spotless, and all five of the active participants have good singing voices. "Baby Shark" is one of my grandson's favourite videos, and I can't help liking it too.

Bounce Patrol's "Baby Shark" was uploaded in May and has been watched 291 million times, which means it has earned $582,000. That's more than some less successful Hollywood films earn. Bounce Patrol has 146 videos online with 154 million views in the last 30 days, meaning the group is earning more than $300,000 per month. Judging by the high production quality I expect that they invest a lot of that money in their new videos, but the profit margin must still be high.

If anyone is interested in knowing more about Bounce Patrol, there's a video in which they present themselves to their fans and answer questions about their work. Click here to watch that video.

These guys put in a lot of hard work to make high quality videos that are entertaining and educational. I wish all YouTube channels were of such high quality.
