Dexter Kill List

When I was watching the series "Dexter" last year I wanted to make a list of his kills. I made notes as I watched each episode. After the first 20 episodes I discovered that a list had already been made that was much better than anything I could have done myself. It's actually a team effort published on the Dexter fan site. In this post I've merely reformatted and simplified the list, but the hard work compiling the list was done by others. The easy part is listing the kills that we see taking place on the screen. The difficult part comes from counting the blood slides and reading the names briefly shown in season two as victims of the Bay Harbour Butcher.

The 144 victims listed above are the ones that can be verified, whether named or not. At various points Dexter makes claims about how many people he's killed. Not all his claims are correct.

In the web series Early Cuts he claims that he's already killed dozens of people who deserved to die. I've included this statement in the list because it's probably accurate.

In Season Five Episode One Dexter claims that he's already killed 67 people. This is incorrect, because at this time there were already 96 verified kills.

In New Blood Episode Nine Dexter claims he's killed hundreds of people. Maybe he's exaggerating, or maybe he's forgotten the exact number of kills after his ten year absence from killing.
