This is the third film in the Stuttgart Fantasy Film Festival.
"Medusa Deluxe" takes place in the rooms below a concert hall which is being
used for a hairdressing contest. One of the hairdressers has been killed, and
the other hairdressers discuss the murder, some of them accusing one another.
The whole film takes place in real time in a single take. The camera follows
the hairdressers from room to room as they leave one conversation and start
another.
The film is a comedy. The conversations are hilarious for most of the film.
It's only the final ten minutes, when the murderer finally confesses his
crime, that the conversation becomes serious. For me this broke the style.
Having a serious end to a comedy film feels wrong. If you've seen the film,
please leave a comment and let me know whether you agree with this criticism.
