This is something I hate. I absolutely despise that when a good film is made the film studios push out a third rate sequel as fast as possible to cash in. This "sequel" actually has very little do do with the first film, apart from starring Julie Strain and using the same theme music.
Paul Stevens is offered a job at a cosmetics company in Coventry, California. He didn't apply for the job, he just received a surprise phone call saying he had been selected for the $200,000 a year position as sales manager. Do you remember what they say about things that seem too good to be true?
When Paul arrives he finds that the company is owned by Tara Coventry (Julie Strain) and her two sisters Kaitlin (Julie K. Smith) and Noella (Jenna Bair). On the first evening Kaitlin offers to have sex with him, but he says he's too tired. Silly man. He falls asleep and dreams that Kaitlin is having rough sex with him, ending with her snapping his neck. The next day at work he discovers that most of the male employees, including his predecessor, have died young due to a mystery illness. He begins to investigate and finds out that all the women in the small town of Coventry are witches.
Too tired for Julie K. Smith? |
I've given this film 3 stars because of the gratuitous nudity. That's the only thing that makes the film worth watching. The plot itself is nonsensical. Please don't blame Jim Wynorski. He directed the first film, but for this film he was only the executive producer. As we all know, in films the executive producer does almost nothing. Blame it all on Richard Styles, who wrote and directed this catastrophe. If you're a devoted fan of one or both of the two Julies you'll want to see this film. Otherwise forget it.
