Day 2 -- November 14, 2013
Today was a half day in court. For the first time the complications in the case became apparent. The four people charged with the murder each have their own defence lawyers. They are accusing each other of the crimes, so the defence "team" is not presenting a united front. A witness today, a relative of Lisa Clarke, reported phone calls and conversations in which it was claimed that Jason Andrews had "slit an old geezer". Lisa Clarke's lawyer is relying on this testimony, whereas Jason Andrews' lawyer accused the witness of inventing the story, saying that the phone calls had never taken place. Effectively, the defence lawyers are doing the prosecution's job.
