This film is about a care home for children. They're either orphans, or their
parents have put them into the home temporarily because they're unable to deal
with them. It's not stated what the minimum age is, but the children have to
leave on their 18th birthday, whether they want to or not.
Grace Howard is the home's supervisor. She can sympathise with the children
because she grew up in a foster home after her father was imprisoned for
sexually abusing her.
There are lots of little stories being told in parallel. Each child leads his
own life. The child who has the most screen time is Jayden, a 15-year-old who
frequently practises self harm. She's also been abused by her father, although she
doesn't have the courage to tell the police. She grows close to Grace.
Overall, this is a sad film, despite several small happy endings. I don't know
what the film's message is supposed to be. It seems to be a selection of
stories about random teenagers.
