This is the eighth film in the Stuttgart White Nights Festival.
Red rooms are an urban legend. There's no proof of their existence, but that
doesn't mean they don't exist. They're rooms broadcast live on the Internet's
Dark Web, in which people are sexually abused, tortured and killed.
This film follows the trial of Ludovic Chevalier. a man who is alleged to have
raped and killed three young blond girls on live camera. The only problem is
that he was masked, so his identity isn't 100% certain. Yes, it's a courtroom
drama. We see two young women attending the trial: Clementine, who is
convinced that Ludovic is innocent, and Kelly-Anne, who prefers to keep an
open mind. Everyone else is convinced of Ludovic's guilt.
Clementine is a homeless person. Kelly-Anne lives in a luxury apartment, but
she prefers to sleep on the streets close to the courthouse. Kelly-Anne earns
money from playing online poker. She's a computer expert who is at home in the
Dark Web, and she tries to find out what really happened.
The film is interesting, but the courtroom scenes are boring, and the computer
scenes are full of scientific jargon that can only fool people who don't have
extensive knowledge of the Internet. I can appreciate that a lot of work was
put into the production, but it can't win me over.
