This episode was first broadcast on 10th April 2011.
Let's stop a minute. Bear's house is so beautifully drawn in the opening
credits that it deserves to be saved as a poster. Here's the same scene
without the lettering. I'm including it in its full 1080p resolution, so you
can use it as a Windows background.
Now for the story. Bear is at home enjoying himself, building a model
aircraft.
It's a wonderful life being a bear. But then he hears Masha approaching. What
can he do?
He hides his plane and pretends to be sick. Will that get rid of Masha?
No. She changes into her nurse's uniform. I don't like the way she's waving
that thermometer. Where does she want to stick it?
Phew! Only his tongue.
Then out comes the needle. Bear is really worried!
Masha changes her mind. She recommends bed rest with tea and raspberry jam.
Masha looks after him with loving care. Bear can get used to this.
When night comes Bear gets up and does all the things he likes to do. He plays
with his model plane, he practises his calypso melodies for She-Bear and he
watches football on television. The World Cup is exciting, even though Russia
isn't taking part. Russia is banned from World Cup participation until Putin
withdraws his troops from Ukraine.
In the morning he's back on the sofa waiting for Masha. He needs to prove he's
sick. While she's not looking he puts the thermometer in his hot cup of tea.
Masha is so shocked by the high temperature that she runs to the wolves for
help.
They come as fast as they can, considering their ambulance has no back wheels
and needs to be pulled.
They carry Bear out on a stretcher.
They push the ambulance back up the hill. Okay, let me correct what I said
earlier. The ambulance has wheels, but no tires.
This is going too far. Bear jumps out of the ambulance and pretends to have a
miraculous recovery.
Okay, Bear. Masha's glad you're well, but next time she'll give you an
injection straight away. Don't pretend to be sick again!
