This is the second film in the "Emmanuelle in Space" series. It takes
place soon after the first film. The space craft under the leadership of
Captain Haffron is still on its mission to examine Earth's sexuality, guided
by the Earth woman Emmanuelle.
A few things are stated for the first time in this film.
Emmanuelle is from Paris.
There are eight aliens on board the ship. Only five of them have been named so
far: Haffron, Theo, Kara, Angie and Raymond.
The aliens look like humans, but Haffron says that they've disguised
themselves. He says that their real form would be too ugly for humans to bear.
In the first film Emmanuelle led various members of the alien team to places
that she already knew. In this film she's travelling with Haffron to new
places that she hasn't yet visited.
The first visit is to the Temple of Athena in Athens. Haffron is well versed in Earth's
history. He knows that the Gods used to live in Greece. He offers to role-play
as Gods with Emmanuelle. He will be Zeus. Typical male ego! He wants her to be
Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, but she says she'd rather be Athena, the
Goddess of Wisdom. I like her more all the time. They use the temple outside
of the normal opening hours. First they make love, and then they invite the
other seven aliens, all dressed as Gods, for a banquet. It's no surprise that
the banquet turns into an orgy. I hope the experience will help the aliens
save their planet when they return.
Emmanuelle and Haffron go on a boat trip across the Mediterranean. More sex,
of course, but Haffron complains that the temperature is too hot for him.
Emmanuelle suggests that they go to a cabin in the Rocky Mountains to cool down.
Haffron carries a small device that he calls a
transmitter. If there's a close up of the device in a future film I'll post it
for you. This device fulfils two purposes. It can transport a person from one
place to another, and it can manipulate objects by creating, changing or
removing them. When Haffron travels from one place to another, he says that
he's transmitting himself.
So what is there to do in the Rocky Mountains? Sex, sex and more sex. Theo 205
is in the space ship watching everything. Obviously his species doesn't
believe in privacy. What's he drinking? It looks like a Coca Cola that he
bought from McDonalds while he was in Athens. Those aliens are so dull. If I
were watching hot sex on a video monitor I wouldn't be sipping a Coke.
But maybe Theo isn't as cool as he looks. He drops his Coke on the computer
console.
Oops! That doesn't look good!
The cloaking device is damaged, so American air force bases can see the space
ship. Fighter jets are sent that the spaceship barely avoids.
They can no longer communicate with Haffron or see where he is, but they
can see his location when he uses the transmitter.
Theo 205 is young and inexperienced. He was only born a few days ago.
The other crew members call him Theo 204, because they don't know that he
cloned himself. Theo transmits himself to the Rocky Mountains to tell Haffron
to return to the ship, but he's too late. Haffron and Emmanuelle are already
on a train travelling at the side of the Great Wall of China.
A security guard is walking through the train checking passports. Haffron
doesn't have a passport, and it must be too complex to make on with his
transmitter. Why doesn't he just transmit himself onto the roof until the
guard has gone? He doesn't think of that, so he panics and leaves the
compartment.
Haffron has a lucky break. The district governor that we saw in the first film
is also travelling in the train. Her name wasn't mentioned in the first film,
but it's Li Tsu. She knows that Haffron is an alien, so
she takes him into her compartment to hide him.
It's not completely selfless. Li Tsu is still seeking spiritual enlightenment,
so she throws Haffron onto her bed for hot, steamy sex. I have a small
criticism here. I know it's a luxury first class compartment, but that really
doesn't look like a train. I can just about accept the furniture and the
carpet, but the doors don't look right.
After visiting the Great Wall, Haffron and Emmanuelle transmit themselves onto
a steam ship on the Nile. There's a repeating comedy element here. Every time
the transmitter is used, Theo detects it and transmits himself down to the
Earth, but he always arrives in the wrong place. It's logical, really. The
transmitter is used in China, but when he arrives they're already in Egypt.
There are problems in Egypt. When Haffron and Emmanuelle leave the ship to go
sight-seeing, a thief breaks into their cabin and steals the transmitter.
Really! Haffron should know better than to leave something as valuable as that
lying around. Has all the blood left his brain? The thief soon finds out that
he can alter objects with the transmitter. Then he presses the wrong button,
and he transmits himself to China. Fortunately, Haffron has a spare
transmitter – never leave home without one! – and he follows him
to China.
The thief meekly returns the transmitter, on condition that Haffron first
transmits him to Hollywood. All this transmitter activity makes it finally
possible for Theo to find Haffron. They return to the spaceship. Haffron tells
Emmanuelle that their mission is over. They know all about sex, so the
spaceship will return to its planet, and Emmanuelle must go back to the Earth.
Is this the end of the film series? I'll give you a spoiler. The answer is No.
Wait for my next review.
This film is a very good erotic science fiction comedy. It started off slowly,
but after the Coca Cola incident it got more interesting. By the time
Emmanuelle was tying Haffron up for bondage sex, I was hooked.
The relationship between Emmanuelle and Haffron is understated. She seems to
be falling in love with him, although she never says so. His interest is
purely sex, but maybe he's beginning to have forbidden feelings that would
jeopardise his mission. The third film will tell us more.
