Leverkusen – VfB Stuttgart
Date: 12th November 2022, 2:30 pm
Result: 2 – 0
After a promising win against Hertha BSC last week, Stuttgart lost against
Leverkusen on Saturday. I missed the game, but according to the match reports
Stuttgart played better, but Leverkusen scored the goals. In the end the goals
are all that matters. This was a disastrous loss. It pushed VfB Stuttgart back
into the league's cellar, where they'll remain for the next two months. This
was the last league match before the winter break and the Football World Cup
in Qatar.

Three VfB Stuttgart players have been called up to play for their national teams in the World Cup. Not all teams have been finalised, so it's possible there will be others at the last minute.
Wataru Endo (29), VfB Stuttgart's captain, will play for Japan.
Hiroki Ito (23) will play for Japan.
Borna Sosa (24) will play for Croatia.
So does this mean I'll be cheering for Japan and Croatia in the World Cup?
Maybe. If their respective teams have success, it will give them added impetus
to play better next year.
