Tusk (4 Stars)

Wallace Bryton has a successful podcast that he calls the Not-See Party. Don't say that out loud. He interviews weird and wonderful people for his listeners. He flies to Canada to interview a man who accidentally cut his leg off while he was dancing with a katana. When he arrives he finds out that the man has committed suicide. How selfish could he possibly be? He should have waited until after the interview. Wallace has had a wasted trip. Or maybe not. While urinating he sees a note on the wall from a man offering to tell unbelievable true stories from his life at sea.

It's worth a try, since Wallace is already in Canada. He drives to the home of  Howard Howe, an old man in a wheelchair. He tells Wallace about how a walrus rescued him after a shipwreck. Wallace falls asleep, because Howard has drugged his coffee. When he wakes up he finds that his legs have been amputated. After sleeping again, he finds that his body has been cut apart and stitched back together differently. Howard has transformed him into a walrus.

Is it a horror film or a comedy? That depends on the viewer. I couldn't help laughing. It's funny, as long as it happens to someone else and not me. It's a much better film than "Wakanda Forever", which I watched yesterday.
