Rating: 3½ Stars

This is the 47th solo album recorded by Klaus Schulze. The first two tracks are studio recordings, and the other two tracks were recorded live at a concert in Poznan, Poland on 5th November 2003. The live tracks are clean, i.e. there are no audience noises. I assume they were recorded directly from his instruments on stage, making them indistinguishable from studio recordings.

Like many of Klaus Schulze's recent (21st Century) recordings, the music is pleasant, but not exciting. Today is the first time I've listened to "Moonlake" since I bought it brand new in 2005. The music isn't bad, but Klaus has made much better albums.

"Moonlake" is now out of print.

  1. At the opening of the new shopping mall Stary Browar (Old Brewery), Klaus Schulze played tracks 3 and 4. Only a few distinguished people were invited inside with special invitations to listen to the concert inside. The concert was broadcast outdoors on big screens for several thousand spectators. I was outside there too :-)
