"Banshee" continues to establish itself as the most violent series on
television. How can such a small town have so many criminals?
About 20 minutes from the end of the final episode of season two I thought
that everything was tidily wrapped up, so that the series could come to an
end. Mr. Rabbit was killed. Again. Let's hope he stays dead this time.
In a long flashback sequence we saw the reason for the animosity between Lucas
Hood and Mr. Rabbit. And then, in the last 20 minutes, a string of
things took place that laid the background for future stories.
Rebecca Bowman is a long way from her Amish roots. She murders the Indian
chief, Alex Longshadow, She's not as sweet and innocent as she looks.
Her Uncle Kai is so impressed that the two become lovers. Wait! Isn't an
uncle-niece relationship incest? I did a bit of research afterwards. In
America the legal status is confused. It varies from state to state. Some
states allow uncles and nieces to marry, others don't. In England the law is
clearer. It's illegal for an uncle to marry his niece, but sexual intercourse
between an uncle and niece isn't illegal, as long as she's over 18. Whatever
the law may be, it's still something taboo, not to be talked about in public.
Since his arrival in Banshee, Sheriff Lucas Hood has been having sex with
every woman he can get his hands on, whether she's Amish, Indian or
normal. (What else would you call a woman who's neither Amish nor
Indian?) Now he seems to be finally settling down. Season three will tell
us if it's true! He's getting into a serious relationship with his deputy
Siobhan.
She even puts up with his dreadful accommodation.
Lucas has the strange habit of sleeping on the floor next to his bed. He only
uses his bed when he has female company.
I should have been making a list of the women that Lucas Hood has slept with
since the beginning of the series. I'm not sure I can remember them all. But
Siobhan is a good woman if he wants to settle down.
Kai Proctor is on bail, awaiting trial for illegal gun possession. Deputy
Emmett is murdered shortly after he resigns. There are so many storylines to
be followed up next season. I can hardly wait. Bingeing is cool.
